In my classes this week I’ve been talking about control – that we actually have control over very little of what happens in our lives, and that really, we should be considering our reactions – when things seemingly feel out of our control.
So what can we control?
Well, I’m going to talk about just one very simple thing here.
But breathing happens automatically right?Well, yes – but……
Did you know that the breath is the only autmatic function of our body that we can control?
When we consciously become aware of our breath, begin to slow it down and deepen it, we directly affect all of our other body systems, noteably our nervous and cardiovasculay systems – in a good way! We release stress, become calm and rather than reacting, we can respond – or simply just allow ourselves to go with the flow of life.
