Day 16  of our 21 Day #fillyourcup Challenge, Meditation.

You know what I hear a lot of? “Meditation is hard” or “I don’t have time to meditate”. In fact even I’ve even said them before. But is it really hard? I think if you set a lot of rules and expectations on what meditation should be like, then yes it is kinda hard. And did you know that you don’t have to sit motionless in lotus pose like our little monk here? (he is after all an actual statue!)

Meditation is being in the present moment. You know why meditation feels hard? Because we spend most of our mental energy on past or future thoughts. Meditation doesn’t need a big chink of time, start with 5 minutes a day, sit quietly and just tune into your breath. Just noticing the inhalations and exhalations. There’s also loads of free guided meditations on You Tube you could try too. Just five minutes – start small – start simple. You’ll be a expert at mediation in no time.
